Hello!

My name is Maria. I moved to Germany with my family six years ago as part of the late-resettler (Spätaussiedler) program. My professional background and education had nothing directly to do with books, but books have always been part of my life — a source of support and comfort. When my child was born, the range of books at home grew and became more varied, and after moving to a new country, books became one of the main things that made our house feel warm and like home.

I dream of opening a cozy book space in Paderborn, where people can meet and talk about what they’ve read, stop by for a cup of tea and browse through books, find kindred spirits, and see the people that books bring together. The Neverread online bookshop is one step on the way to that dream. My family helps me, so from here on I’ll say “we.”

Every book in our range is chosen personally and thoughtfully — often with an eye toward building a home library. Many of the books we carry are already part of our own family’s collection.
