Bumkniga (Publisher)

For more than 10 years, the publishing house Bumkniga has been publishing the best Russian and international creator-driven comics, tirelessly fighting stereotypes about comics and actively promoting comics culture in Russia: it runs the international comics festival “Boomfest,” gives talks and holds workshops across the country, curates comics areas at the country's largest book fairs, and organizes meetings with Russian and foreign comics artists.

Bumkniga isn't afraid of difficult subjects or experimental visual approaches, and believes that comics are for everyone — which is why its catalog includes autobiographical and biographical graphic novels, reportage, coming-of-age stories, books on LGBT themes, literary anecdotes, humorous strips, as well as graphic adaptations of the classics and comics for children.
